Calling All Wizards (and Puffs!): Audition for spring production of ‘Puffs’ at Jackson College

December 12, 2024

Jackson College Theatre Department invites students, staff and community members to audition for the hilarious spring production “Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” by Matt Cox. Auditions are Jan. 21 and 22, with callbacks on Jan. 23, starting at 5 p.m. in the George Potter Center’s Michael Baughman Theatre.

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there, too. It is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. Third or Nothing! Theatre instructor Sara Anne Tomczak, who recently presented “Steel Magnolias,” and “Sylvia,” again directs this production for college and community.

Auditions will consist of reading scenes/monologues from the play; these will be sent via e-mail when registering for an audition time slot. Take this for three credits as a class at JC or sign up as a community member (non-credit). Rehearsals will be three days a week, Monday-Thursday, except for tech. Tech is the first two weeks of April (must be available). Cast and crew will have JC’s spring break off. Final performances are in April.
